Kazakhstan is a little-known region that still attracts few tourists.
Located at the crossroads of Mongolia, Russia and China, this country is nevertheless a giant: It is five times larger than France with some 2,717,300 sq. km.
The diversity of weather conditions and terrain makes it a paradise for heliskiers. From late November, the powder settles in and the beautiful, mostly north facing, slopes are ready to be explored.

PROGRAM
Domestic flights from Astana or Amalty arrive at Ust-Kamenogorsk in the early afternoon.
Our team will meet you at Ust-Kamenogorsk airport.
This is the rendezvous point for your transfer to the hotel (about a 2 hour drive by private bus).
After you check-in, you can settle into your rooms.
In the afternoon, there will be a safety briefing (reminder of the rules to follow when skiing, avalanche safety, using Airbags, etc.).
You will be given your Airbag, which will be adjusted and tested with the help of the guides.
This will be followed by a presentation of the safety equipment, an explanation of how your avalanche transceiver works and possible interference from all electronic equipment.
Dinner is at the hotel.
Cat skiing day This first day of skiing will give you a chance to warm up before moving on to heliskiing.
You can enjoy vertical drops of between 300 and 600 meters on terrain that is mainly in the forest,
with up to 8 runs during this warm-up session.
The program is simple: heliskiing
Priority is always given to heliskiing.
Depending on the weather conditions forecast, the program may be modified.
For example, if good weather is forecast on the Monday, you will go heliskiing and enjoy the cat skiing on a day when the conditions are less favorable for heliskiing.
You leave the hotel at the end of the morning on Saturday to return to the airport.

ACCOMMODATION
You will be staying in a comfortable lodge close to the small town of Ridder. This small town in the east of the country is renowned for its mining resources, as well as the mountains that surround it.
Taïga lodge is a traditional wooden chalet that can host up to 7 people.
At the front of the lodge there is a terrace with place for you to store your ski equipment.
As soon as you walk in, you will appreciate the warmth and comfort of the cozy interior that offers all the comfort you need during your week.
The extremely spacious living room (40m²) is bright, with large windows opening onto the lush forest. You will enjoy spending some convivial time there after a day of skiing.
Finally, the steam sauna will help you relax and relieve any aches and pains!
